Each player begins with six cards featuring either a tree or two forest dwellers such as animals, plants plus mushrooms. On your turn, choose whether to draw two cards from the deck or Clearing, or spend resources to play a card into your growing forest.

Though keep an eye out is Winter is coming. At the beginning of the game three Winter cards are shuffled into the lower portion of the deck, creating a ticking clock that keeps the game moving. When the third Winter card appears, the game ends immediately, forcing you to balance long-term plans with the need to secure points before the woodland closes for the season.
