In the not so distant future when nature has reclaimed the earth much has changed but so has humanity. Humans now utilise anything they can to build a new way of living.
 
Life in Reterra is a building game where each player is trying to build community of their own. Over the course of the game players will choose land tiles from their hand or the display and add it to their community, which can be a maximum size of 4 x 4 tiles. Some tiles on the board have a gear icon this means you can either place inhabitant from the reserve on this gear or place a building tile into the community. Once you have a building in play you gain the power of that building card and use it once in each subsequent turn. These effect range from placing relic tokens for extra points, placing inhabitants, placing junk on opponents relics and much more. Play continues until all players have 16 tiles in their community and then they score their communities. You gain points for what you have built, this includes blocks of terrain that is at least seven spaces, surrounding energy sources, inhabitants, relics and buildings.
