Each round begins with 8 letter cards displayed on the board, all showing consonants. Everyone studies the letters simultaneously searching for a word that uses the most valuable combinations. The first player to write down a word flips the 30-second timer, becoming the fastest player while giving everyone else half a minute to find their answer.
 
You are not restricted to the letters shown. Add vowels or other letters to complete your word, but the real challenge is choosing combinations that make the most of the board. Each matching letter earns points based on its position across the four columns and its rarity, rewarding players who can spot high-value opportunities quickly.
 
Once the timer ends, the fastest player scores first. The remaining players then compare their results against that score with bonuses available for beating the fastest player. A further bonus can reward the fastest player when their result remains competitive against the rest of the table, creating another reason to balance speed with quality.
 
After 7 rounds, only your best five words count towards the final score, alongside any bonuses earned during play. This means one rushed answer is not enough to win so knowing when to push for a brilliant word can be just as important as being first to the timer.
