Put your powers of deduction to the test in Things in Rings, a word-based party game where logic, language and lateral thinking collide in a clever triple Venn diagram puzzle. One player knows the secret rules. Everyone else must work them out while racing to get rid of their cards.
At the centre of the table, create the three-ring Venn diagram before choosing one player to become The Knower. Only The Knower knows the hidden logic behind each Ring, while every other player begins with a hand of five Object cards.
The secret rules can focus on surprising characteristics such as spelling, grammar, physical properties, cultural connections or industry. On your turn, play an Object card into the area you think matches its hidden rule. Get it right and continue playing. Choose incorrectly and The Knower moves your card to the correct location, giving you another clue before you draw a replacement card.
The real challenge is spotting the pattern from these subtle hints. Cards can belong inside one Ring, fit the overlap between two or even all three Rings or sit completely outside the diagram. Every placement provides another piece of the puzzle, but revealing the logic too slowly gives your opponents time to catch up.
The first player to successfully play all the cards from their hand wins, making Things in Rings a race of observation, deduction plus clever interpretation.
Things in Rings is an entertaining party game for friends and family gatherings when with people who enjoy word games that make your brain solve a puzzle.
