Capture the perfect sequence of memories in Photograph, a fast-paced set collecting travel game set in 1960s Japan. Wander through the streets, build your roll of pictures, then arrange your photographs into the most valuable combinations before the sun sets on your day of shooting.
Each player manages a hand of photo cards, carefully organising them to create scoring sets based on their numbers plus colours. On your turn, add 1 to 3 new cards to the front of your hand without changing their order, then move one card closer to the front to improve your developing collection. To keep your roll manageable, discard cards from the back according to how many new photographs you added.
This simple system creates a surprisingly tricky puzzle because every decision affects the cards you will have available later. A photograph that looks unhelpful now could become the missing piece of a valuable set, while moving the wrong card can ruin an arrangement you were carefully building.
The tension rises when the Sunset card appears. The day’s photography ends immediately, leaving everyone to score the pictures currently on their camera. There is no final chance to tidy your collection, so knowing when to take a risk becomes just as important as recognising a great set.
With quick turns, clever hand management, set collection and a charming 1960s Japanese setting, Photograph is an ideal travel board game for people who enjoy compact strategy with a distinctive theme.
