Design a city worthy of a queen in The Architects of Amytis, a strategic 2 player board game where tile placement, worker placement as well as pattern building combine into a clever architectural duel. King of Babylon has commissioned two master architects to create the most beautiful city imaginable for Queen Amytis but only one design will earn the honour of being built.
 
On each turn, select a building tile from the shared market then place your Architect pawn on the corresponding stack. Add the chosen tile to your city board, either filling an empty space or covering an existing building to create a taller structure. Every tile represents a different building type, giving you new opportunities to score while shaping the layout of your growing city.
 
Each building offers its own immediate scoring potential while tile colours create another layer of strategy as arranging colours into specific patterns matching the King’s Projects to earn valuable end-game points. The building cards also feature different abilities, with A and B sides providing variation that can change how each building type performs from one game to the next.
 
Your Architect pawns create a second puzzle on the market board. Place three of your architects in a row, column or diagonal to earn the King’s Favour, unlocking an additional end-game scoring opportunity. Balancing this objective against your city’s development is essential because concentrating on one scoring route can leave the other exposed.
