Bring the electricity network of Nekojima, the famous Japanese “Island of Cats”, to life in a thrilling dexterity game where every move could send the whole structure tumbling. With colourful wooden components, clever challenges plus plenty of feline interference, Nekojima combines balance, concentration plus tactical placement for a memorable family or party game.

The island’s districts are cramped, leaving precious little room for the growing network of electrical poles. On your turn, roll the dice to determine where your poles must be placed, then draw a cable length from the bag. Carefully position the wooden poles while ensuring the hanging cables never touch. As the structure rises, you may need to stack poles together, making each decision increasingly precarious.

Then come the cats.

A black cube drawn from the bag means a cat must be placed onto one of the cables already on the board. Suddenly, the carefully balanced network becomes even harder to control. One shaky placement could bring the entire installation crashing down, handing defeat to the player who caused the collapse.

Nekojima offers both competitive as well as cooperative play, making it easy to tailor the challenge to your group. In competitive games, avoid being the player who knocks down the structure. In cooperative mode, work together to see how far your electrical network can grow before gravity finally wins.

With its tactile wooden pieces, accessible rules plus tense stacking gameplay, Nekojima is a fantastic dexterity board game for family game nights or to share with players who enjoy games where steady hands matter just as much as clever decisions.
