All of these games are small enough to fit in a stocking and retail for under £15 as well as pack a great gaming experience into a small box.

  1. Animotion

This family friendly small box party game is a great stocking filler that brings great joy around the dining table after Christmas dinner with its fun and silly nature. In the game each player takes it in turn to be the alpha animal who will roll the dice and act out the cards corresponding to them which will be an animal and an expression card while the other players try to guess what animal and expression the alpha animal is acting out. With its straightforward rules and quick gameplay it is sure to be a hit with many families.

  1. Welcome Back to the Dungeon

If you're looking for a fun challenge and a bit of push your luck to gift this Christmas look no further. In Welcome Back to the Dungeon you will take on the role of an adventurer where you will flip cards to see what monsters lurk in the dungeon and then choose to push your luck or not to delve in and grab the treasure. This game is perfect for those who love to push their luck and try and outwit their opponents.

  1. Shoal

Shoal is an ocean inspired card laying game where you will be trying to build a shoal of fish that meets the objective cards requirements to score points at the end of the game. Over the course of the game you will be taking turns to draft cards into your shoal trying to place them so they overlap each other to align the fish in the most optimal way while the fish maintain the same direction. This game comes with a great amount of replayability with the variety of objective cards and is simple to learn and set up.

  1. Aqualin

In this abstract strategy game you will be trying to either get groups of the same colour or same species next to each other. During the game you will draft tiles and place them onto the board while also moving other tiles which have already been placed creating an ever evolving puzzle. This offers a nice amount of strategy and is perfect for two players.

  1. Ecosystem

  1. Cartaventura

This series of games is one of my all time favourite adventure games as you get to take a step back in time.
