How Does Fliptoons Play?

The theme is wonderfully simple. You're searching Flip Valley for the perfect cast to fill six key roles in the next hit animated series. The game itself is played over several rounds, each consisting of four phases:

Flip

In this step all players simultaneously reveal cards from their deck, creating a grid three cards wide and two cards deep. Cards are revealed in order, beginning at the top left and working across before moving down to bottom row.

Check Fame

Next players evaluate the characters in their grid and gain Fame based on the values and abilities shown on the cards. Fame is tracked using personal score marker cards on the reference cards.

Market

Then starting with the first player, everyone may perform up to two actions.

Players can:

• Hire a Toon by purchasing a card from the market.

• Dismiss a Toon by spending 5 Fame to permanently remove a card from their deck.

After all players have finished, the market is replenished.

Cleanup

To finish a round cards are collected to form a new deck for the next round. If nobody has reached 30 Fame, the first-player marker passes clockwise and a new round begins. If at least one player has reached the target, the game moves to the Final Flip.

The Final Flip

This is where everything comes together.

Players perform one final Flip and Check Fame phase using the decks they have built throughout the game. Whoever generates the most Fame wins and proves they assembled the best cartoon cast in the business.
