Discover an island where the map can change beneath your feet in Maps of Misterra, a strategic map-building board game where exploration, hidden objectives along with calculated assumptions determine who earns the most prestige. As an expedition leader, you must uncover the mysterious island of Misterra while creating a personal map that reflects your discoveries as accurately as possible.
 
On each turn, take two actions to move your explorer, discover nearby terrain or claim control of regions. When exploring, choose from four randomly drawn terrain tiles, placing your discoveries onto the central island board before recording them on your personal parchment map. The catch is that terrain is not considered confirmed until the same type has been discovered twice, so an early assumption can later prove completely wrong.
 
This shifting information creates the heart of Maps of Misterra. You must balance your hidden personal objectives with the need to maintain an accurate map, constantly comparing your parchment with the evolving island. Terrain types can also trigger special abilities, giving you opportunities to move your explorer, refresh available sketch cards, reveal new information or alter your plans.
 
Keep a close eye on rival expeditions as their discoveries can reveal useful clues or disrupt your carefully constructed strategy. The game moves towards a tense finale when the island becomes fully confirmed, the sketch cards run out or a player completes their parchment map.
 
Once the exploration ends, prestige is awarded for your achievements plus hidden objectives. The player with the highest score earns the distinction of leading the most successful expedition.
