After the American paras blooded themselves in Sicily in 1943 and the fought their most famous operations during the D-Day landings the US Airborne Divisions were withdrawn to rest up and refit. When they returned to the action they were outfitted in the new green M-1943 uniform to bring their uniform in line with US military's standard supply. These troops then saw action in Operation Market Garden with the 101st 'Sceaming Eagles' and the 82nd 'All American' taking part in parachute drops to take key bridges to open a path through Holland. They then see further action when dropped into Germany in 1945 as part of Operation Varsity and Plunder to take the mighty River Rhine.
